- This house was built in 1929 on 6" unreinforced concrete foundation walls and 2x4 walls and rafters. After over 2 years of planning, procrastinating and surprise early arrivals (aka Lola), our house project is under way. We're gutting almost the entire first floor and adding a full second story. The basement is getting some interior drains under the slab as well as a couple new footings and posts to support the new loads.

what goes on the wings on the dormer?
I just used the Hardie vertical panels on the back of a garage 35.00.
a 4x8sheet. seems like you could cover those wings in two hours compared to cutting in all that siding. it would take longer to shift the ladders. just a thought maybe a couple of gargoyles applied on top.
That's funny, I was just talking to Dugan about that yesterday. They'll probably make a template first and use it to cut the siding.
